The beginning

Kärleksfabriken is the Swedish word for “the love factory”, quite a name that these young musicians need to carry on their shoulders. Heavy but joyful, sweet and sugary as honey, jam or…

Ehum… It all started back in the 90s in a lush suburb to the city of Uppsala where Gustav Jörtsö started do write and compose songs, patently recognizable for their emotional yet happy outlook on life. It turned out these moments of inspiration ignited the reactions that eventually lead to the formation of the band known as Kärleksfabriken. The emotional and happy lyrics and music composed back then still serve as a continuous source of inspiration for the band.

During the autumn of ‘08 and the spring of ‘09 Kärleksfabriken was born as a contemporary show in which music was fused with choreographed dance into a melting pot of cross-culture at the Uppsala Concert Hall. The band also made it to the national finals in MusikDirekt (a Swedish music competition) and did, in addition to that, play in Bobster, (a Swedish children television show). All in all this period was a time of great experimental lust as the band started to form and its signature style to take shape.

It’s a band

In the summer of ’09 our family of three musicians and two dancers had expanded into a band encompassing eight musicians. The phenomenon, namely that Kärleksfabriker tend to grow, has been widely observed and remarked by the natural science community as nothing short of a natural phenomenon.

One year later, as the summer of ’10 is approaching, the band is pretty much like a family and as the year have passed the members have successively been assigned different family roles. As our family has grown our kids, the music that we produce and play, has become the coolest, baldest and most flamboyant kids ‘round the block.
