2003 was the year that this fest saw the light. With 2 days booked at our "home" venue Skylten in Linköping, bands from all over the world got together and made the first DeadFest weekend something to remember. On the first issue of DeadFest we where honored to have acts as Walls Of Jericho, Undying, Security Threat, Morning After and many more. This was the start of something that I never thought was possible during that time in Sweden.The response for the fest turned out to be massive and new offers for the upcoming fest started to rain down in the mailbox.
Now, 2008, the fest can look back and remember great performances and great meetings with people from all over the world. DeadFest has given back so much to me and has effected my life in the most positive way possible. The people, the music, the bands - they have all left good memories that we all will carry with us for a long time.
But everything has to come to an end. It is with sadness I have taken the decision to make DeadFest 2008 the last issue. DeadFest have played its part in our scene and has help alot of bands reaching out. I hope that people will remember the fest as a kick-ass festival and as one of their greatest weekends in the swedish hardcore/punk scene. Thanx to everyone that have supported me through the years and also thanx to all the bands that have been a part of this journey. THANX!!! So lets make this last one a fest that wont be forgotten in a long, long time!
